Learn Bridge

Why learn bridge?

Many games provide fun, but bridge grips you. It exercises your mind. Your mind can rust, you know, but bridge prevents the rust from forming.
– Omar Sharif

No matter where I go, I can always make new friends at the bridge table.

Beginner Lessons

Evening lessons are held at the club rooms on Tuesday evenings starting at 7:30pm.  Lessons consist of two weeks of Minibridge (at no cost) followed by 12 weeks tuition. At the lessons you are taught the basics of how to bid using Acol, and a little bit about play. From the very start you meet and play with other new players, and you learn and move on together.

Following this, new members are buddied-up with more experienced players who will guide you through your first games and introduce you into the junior grade on Tuesday evenings.

After the lessons most people join the club and are given a New Zealand Bridge number that you use whenever you play in a club.

We also plan to offer a Wednesday afternoon set of lessons starting at 1pm. (dependent on numbers registered)

The next course starts:

The cost is $80 for 12 weeks of lessons and includes tuition and comprehensive take-home notes (NZB gift bag?)
